20-minute Roasted STEAK and VEGGIES with Worcheshire Vanilla bUTTER

Here is what happened. It was a rainy weekday. I was tired, bothered, and was at the end of my groceries. I had ONE steak, some random vegetables and good ol’ trusty butter. With great surprise (love surprises! Eek!) a great mistake happened. (Hummm…I may have to have a column for just “great mistakes”). Nonetheless, this 20 minute Sheet Pan Steak and Veggies with the amazing butter is a quick meal, healthy, hearty, and feeds everyone’s fancy!

Are you wondering where in the World did I come up with Worchestshire Vanilla butter? Well…Let me tell you!

Worchestshire Vanilla Butter

My husband and I just had our 10 year Wedding anniversary. I’ll have to tell you all about our date-weekend that I referred to as our “Honeymoon”. It felt exciting when I called it the Honeymoon. Honeymoons are much more sexy than an anniversary 😆.

We visited Ft. Worth, Texas which is just about an hour away from the Farm. We needed a place close to the kids and all our adultingness, so Ft. Worth won the ballot! It was so fun! We ate out many times but there was one that really stood out. It’s a place (random for us!) called the Wicked Butcher. I ordered the Green Curry Salmon and Worchestshire Vanilla Butter. Y’all!! One taste of this butter and I was in love!

Of course, I just had to figure out how to make it. So, when we got home, I worked on it until it was just right! It is a butter that can go over so many things! You must try this!!

This is the dish from Wicked Butcher. LAWD it’s amazing! I highly recommend this swanky place. They have it perfected from the wait staff to the kitchen. They are so kind and the food is to die for!!

How to make this 20-minute sheet pan steak and veggies meal

Ok y’all this is the meal to make when you don’t have much to eat or much time to spend!

Get all your supplies out. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.

Cut your vegetables and trim the steak of choice. Trim only the edges, not inside of the meat—we need that to keep the meat soft.

Make Quinoa if you do not already have some stored.

With at least 1 sheet pan (depends on how many people you are feeding or how hungry they are) add your cut vegetables and cubed meat.

Add salt, pepper, paprika, red pepper, and oil to the top of it. Stir it all around with your hands coating all the items with oil and spices. Then align them flat on the pans.

Place pan(s) in the oven and cook for 7 minutes. Then, using a spatula, turn the food on the other side and cook for 7 more minutes.

NOTE! If you find there is a lot of water from the vegetables on the pan, drain it off (yet, not fully) so that the meat and veggies crisp up.

While the pans are cooking, make the butter. Find a small saucepan and start the heat on medium. Place the butter and the Worchestshire in the pan and melt. Turn the heat off, add the vanilla and sugar.

NOTE: unless you are in love with an alternative sugar, I would not sub it.

Take out the pans from the oven. Let them cool for 30 seconds or so.

Pour the Worchestshire Vanilla butter on the meat and veggies. Toss and turn to coat.

Place on top of quinoa or rice in a bowl or meal prep it for another day!.

Steak choices

You don’t want to sub this steak for just anything. You could end up with some tough meat. For this 20 minute sheet pan steak and veggies with butter I would stick to these meat recommendations:

  • stew meat
  • skirt steak
  • round roast or eye of round
  • cube steaks
  • any meat with a small amount of fat
  • New York Strip Steak
  • T-bone
  • Sirloin
  • Ribeye
  • Filet Mignon

REMINDER! The recipe only calls for 1-2 steaks so since you don’t have to buy many, splurge for a nicer cut! If your like us, we want to save for leftovers and reheat it yet, every time it’s reheated it will get tougher every time.

Ingredients

  • 1 Head 1 cauliflower, chopped (or 1 bag precut)

  • 1 Bunch 1 asparagus, cut in half (lengthwise)

  • 4 Cups 4 fingerling potatoes, cut in half (sub mini potato’s)

  • 2 Cuts 2 Ribeye steak, cut into cubes (sub with T-Bone or New York Strip; trim outside of the meat if there is a fat strap around it.)

  • 1 Large pinch 1 salt and pepper

  • 1 Tsp 1 paprika

  • 1 Large pinch 1 red pepper (optional)

  • 1/8th Cup 1/8th vegetable oil

  • Worchestshire Vanilla Butter
  • 1 Stick 1 salted butter

  • 1 Tsp 1 sugar

  • 2 Tbsp 2 Worchestshire

  • 1 Tsp 1 vanilla

Directions

  • Pre heat your oven to 400 degrees. Start to get all materials out on your workbench and get the vegetables cut up. Cut the Ribeye into 1 inch or 2 inch cubes. If you are subbing the meat for a T-bone or a New York Strip, trim the outside of the meat, taking off the strap of fat around it. Leave the marbled fat inside (that gives it flavor).
  • One (at least 1) sheet pan lay all your cut vegetables and your meat together on the pan. Add salt, pepper, red pepper, paprika, and oil to the pan. Make sure all meat and veggies are flat on the sheet pan.
  • Cook for 7 minutes at 400 degrees. Take out and turn the meat and veggies with a spatula, have all items be flat on the pan again, and cook for 7 more minutes. (Make butter while you wait)
  • Take out of the oven. If there is a lot of juices, drain at least half off the pan into the sink.
  • Add melted butter to the meat and vegetables and toss around coating all the piping hot food. Let rest for 2 minutes and eat warm and plate with quinoa or rice.
  • Worchestshire Vanilla Butter DIRECTIONS
  • In a small saucepan on medium heat, add butter. Let melt.
  • Turn heat to low and add Worchestshire, sugar, and vanilla. Turn heat off. Let cool and it’s ready to pour over the meat and veggies.
