20 minute Beef and Broccolini

This was totally an accident. No corn starch additive, no weird ingredients, just some simple pantry (Asian) ingredients and 20-minutes to make this tender and hearty dinner! Honestly, this Beef and Broccolini is quick and full of flavor!

Let’s skip the (Franny) stories today and get straight to the point. This is so savory, with tender T-bone steak, fluffy rice, with the drippings of a rich beef sauce. I’m sold!

Here is how to do it:

Make your rice. It’s nice to get that task out of the way. Here is how I make my rice in a pot. Otherwise, use your instapot or rice cooker.

Get all ingredients out, a large saucepan, a plate, a knife, and a cutting board. Cut up your broccolini in large slices (I did 1/3rds), and roughly slice your onion. Dice up the garlic and ginger as well. (For the ginger you can peel with a peeler or cut sides off)

Also, trim the outside of the steak (do this on a new clean cutting board, or clean off the other one) to take off the tough fat. Leave the inside marbling if it’s not too thick. You want to leave fat but not fat that is so thick it’s like bubble gum.

Slice the Steak in strips (preferably 5 inch strips).

Turn your heat on medium-high. Hold your hand over the pan and feel the heat start. Put sesame oil in the pan and wait until it gets warm. Add Chili Garlic Paste. Then add the chopped broccolini, onion, garlic, and ginger. Stir until the broccolini is seared, the stems are bright green and the tree-tops are soaked with flavor. (Add as much of the chili garlic paste as you’d like—I love a ton!)

Place on a plate and put to the side.

Add a bit more sesame oil to the pan then place steak strips in the pan. Turn to sear for about 1-2 minutes. Don’t let them get too brown, you want them to be tender and not overcooked. Turn heat to medium-low.

Add the sauces like the miso soup concentrate, fish sauce, hoisin sauce, and oyster sauce. Stir until it’s all combined and covering the steak. Turn heat to LOW and let them marry and get saucy together for about 2 minutes.

Add the broccolini back into the pan, combine well. If you need to step away keep on low or turn heat off.

Place on top of rice with a sprig of cilantro 🌿. Delicious-ioso 🤤!

~always keep in mind not to sear the steak too long. Too tough is hard to eat. Watch for pink, and keep it on the inside or where it’s just turned brown.

~don’t leave out the miso soup additive, ginger, garlic, or hoisin sauce. All good things to keep around.

~you can sub tofu to make it vegetarian.

Never lose this recipe…put it on your board 🙂 hover over the picture and hit the “pin” button and voila!

How did it turn out? I wanted to throw it into my mouth, but that would be weird. Nonetheless, one I’ll be making time and time again. How did it work out for you?

Love y’all bunches!
