The rumors are true. I don’t know what else to say. The birds are obsessed with my window and I am obsessed with the birds. But they are driving me BATTY.
Here is what is going on: we have a large window with a reflective tint on it. Clearly, they are either seeing themselves and can’t get over it(don’t blame them) or they think they have found a new friend (lol that looks just like them!). Either way, these birds are throwing themselves against the window all day long. Here is what they do: they dive into it, then tap on it, then sit on the ledge, fly back, then the other one flies into the window, taps a couple of times, then sits on the ledge, and flies back to tap in the next guy. It’s a lot of tapping on windows. Therefore, I am a crazy bird lady.
Confession: I’m totally obsessed with their beauty. They are striking and purposely graceful. They are fierce and productive. They take their bird job seriously– look at their faces!
(Above) this is a female cardinal stopping mid-air (because she can) and landing on the window ledge. That is her VERY handsome husband who I feel like is NOT so in charge. He’s letting the boss lady figure it out. Good technique bro.
Look at the flight on this guy. Truly can’t believe I got pics of them in action. Striking.
They say when you see a cardinal it’s a sign of prior life contacting you. If that’s true and a prior life is contacting me by throwing themselves against the window that definitely freaks me out. I mean really they could just do something bird-like, you know, eat birdseed or build a nest. I’d still get the sign without the weirdness. Well, maybe not cause I still don’t get what sign they are supposed to be giving me now. Gosh…I guess it is necessary. They probably think I’m the dumbest human ever. What do they want?!!! ugh.
He scares me a little. So fierce.
Whatever they want or are trying to say, I am overjoyed in their beauty and magnificence.
