This Salisbury Steak in Ginger Butter is juicy, with that savory beefy flavor, caramelized onions, and creamy ginger butter. In 20 minutes, you have an ELEVATED Salisbury Steak!

Have you ever had Salisbury Steak? Honestly, it is one of my go-to recipes when I don’t have much to cook, and I need a quick, low-carb meal (psst! minus the potatoes!). Salisbury Steak used to be known as the “poor man’s” steak, but honestly, this can be a quick steak fix anytime you’re in a pinch or simply want some beef in your life! (I get this way)

How to make Salisbury Steak

I know what your thinking; so, don’t overthink this 😅. It will feel a lot like making a hamburger patty–which in many ways you are…but not. Plus, no one is judging you because you refused the bun. It’s a great way to get lean protein and flavor simultaneously!

Combine ground beef, beef of boullion, breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.

bowl

Mix together well by grabbing and mixing with your hand. Shape mixture into 4-6 oval patties and set aside.

toss in a bowl, and feed it through your fingers until completly combined.

Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties until browned on both sides, about 4 minutes per side.

Remove patties from the skillet and set aside on a plate. Let the side that was touching the pan (the hot side) breathe by placing it up (towards the ceiling). This helps the cooked side breathe and not get soggy.

Making the Ginger Butter

This is the magic sauce. Unique and creamy with a hint of that ginger heat. (If you despise Ginger, still give it a try, you can always discard and use the butter recipe without ginger. Sub onion powder and garlic for ginger alternative!)

In the same skillet on low heat, melt butter, add onions, mushrooms, and grated ginger. Cook until onions are translucent and mushrooms are soft. .

Add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.

cream and broth, let get thick.

Return the patties to the skillet and simmer in the sauce for 10 minutes, flipping over to coat each side.

Serve the Salisbury steak hot with the ginger butter sauce spooned over the top.

The final result? Heaven in a patty. Who woulda thought?! 🤗
